Buttermilk powder is a milk product produced from sweet buttermilk liquid obtained in the process of butter production, subjected to the spray-drying process. It retains the original taste and aroma of buttermilk. Buttermilk powder has a composition similar to that of skimmed milk powder and can be used instead of it.
It can be used as an ingredient in confectionery, bakery and in the production of ice cream. It is also used as an additive in the production of desserts, food concentrates and sweets: candy bars, chocolates.
Buttermilk powder is used not only in the food industry. It is a component of body care products, e.g. creams, soaps, bath salts or masks. It has moisturising and peeling effects, leaves the skin smooth and elastic.
Buttermilk powder is characterised by lecithin which is a phospholipid and is essential to the functioning of the nervous system, it contains lecithin, proteins and mineral salts.
